Short AND Tall (Hoopability)
Local Administration Guidelines

The name of the game is participation.

  1. FLYER - Print a copy of the Flyer guideline. Reword it. Add information on your league or tournament. Circulate copies. The Flyer invites a team. Then you implement
  2. SCHEDULING - The Flyer response will indicate your need in dates, facilities and referees. The Sched tool suggests Plan A: Short AND Tall 4-game 2-date Introductory Tournament.
  3. RULES - Print Rules and Wall Marks. For an age and gender, measure the four height marks to a wall. Use the wall to determine player tallness.
  4. HEIGHTS - Coaches have full responsibility on heights. Judge those players, standing, shoeless in socks, who are taller than the lowest level for the age-gender. Marking the four height levels is a step in The 10-Minute Game demonstration.
  5. PUBLICITY- Print the Publ guideline.  Insert your organization, dates and details. Distribute to media.
  6. GAME LIST - Print multiple copies of the Game List tool, which is mainly an optional aid for new teams. The Game List supports the coach's affifrmation that squad tallness is valid. An affirmation is essential. For an actual pre-game exchange of lists by the opposing coaches, provide a blank to each new team before every game.
    • Preferably record the scheduled game time and location on the blank Game List.
    • A Game List identifies the squad members with Tallness Units. It affirms that the squad meets the standard format of 10, including any V's for vacancies, and that tallness is within the five-unit allowance.
  7. LOCAL ADMINISTRATIVE ROLE - Insist only on accurate wall creation.
    • Trust the coaches on judging player tallness, their affirming of squad validity pre-game and their observing of key rules:
      • Maximum five Tallness Units per squad (validity).
      • Format is a standard 10; squad size may be less.
      • Each reduction from 10 (V on Game List) costs two free-throws (halftime).
      • Every non-starter is automatically on a second-half starting lineup.
  8. POST-GAME - Record game score on a schedule copy. Report results to media, and by Email to webmaster@bbtwo.org
