Rec vs Rec in Short AND TallStep by StepMunicipal recreation can showcase the benefits of allowed tallness by introducing Short AND Tall at an elite level. Ability is mobilized to all-star squads in a procedure like selection from practice squads in a club or school. The following blends tallness and hoopability in hoops-for-all municipal recreation. STEP 1JUDGE TALLNESSA wall is marked for coaches of recreation basketball leagues to judge Units of their tall players. Merely by glancing, they classify nearly all players of ordinary height at zero tallness Units. STEP 2 ALL-STAR SQUAD OF EACH LEAGUEAn all-star hoops squad is formed from each league at the center. The squads combine talent and Units in a natural mix of tall and ordinary-size teammates. Every player is talented. Some are tall. In each tallness group, player height is the common factor, so for selection of individuals of the respective Units 0 to 4, indvidual ability-other-than-height (hoopability) is the determinant. STEP 3 LEAGUE ALL-STARS PRACTICE AND COMPETEWithin the center, each league all-star squad practices under one of their league coaches. The star squads meet in games for players and coaches to gain familiarity with the Short AND Tall rules. STEP 4FACILITY ALL-STARSRecvsRec grows to a higher skill. One elite squad is selected from the star squads at each facility. Most squads find they are unable to use their entire five-Unit allowance, but all appreciate that they will never oppose a "tall team." STEP 5 CHALLENGEOne center's director challenges another's. Example:: The Lincoln Center All-Stars, representing the cream of Lincoln regular-basketball leagues or groups, invite Hamilton to "home-and-away." STEP 6 FACILITY vs FACILIITYLincoln vs. Hamilton in Short AND Tall. Hoopability talent is showcased in two games. STEP 7 CLUBSAs the Rec achievement wins notice, participation spreads. Clubs organize.
