Short AND Tall Referee

The referee implements regular basketball rules and the provisions 1, 2 and 3 itemized below.

Omitted from the referee responsibilities are any matters involving player height,
such as Height Units, tallness, affirmation and Game Lists.

 

1  Squad Size: A valid squad size is 5 to 10 players. The referee notes this number pre-game. Insertion of an additional player or replacement during the game is not allowed.

2   Halftime Free Throws: A squad grants two free throws at halftime for each reduction from the 10-player format. If both are under 10, each of the opposing squads takes every shot (no offsetting, no dealing.)

Example: At halftime, a squad of eight players shoots two throws as payment by their nine-player opponent for containing one player beneath the format 10. The squad of nine shoots four free throws as payment by the squad of eight..

3  Second Half Lineups: Included on the second-half opening lineups are all players who did not start the game. Game starters may then re-enter one substitution at a time.
